Being Roadie: 7 Countries. 7 days.
Netherlands-> Belgium-> Germany-> Austria -> Switzerland ->France ->Belgium -> Netherlands One of the most liberating experiences is to drive day in and day out. Seeing open skies, green lush hills or just plain old motorway the whole day and night, stopping over any where and everywhere beautiful, eating on road sides, sleeping(almost) next to a train track, dancing on snow hilltops in summer, just being random. Bliss. Car revs up from Eindhoven, and in no time crosses into Belgium and into Black forest within a day, warming up on the dusty motorway and contrasting green lush hills. Black forest is the greenest stretch of dense evergreen mountains and charming villages, acknowledged for cuckoo clocks, Gothic buildings and vineyards.Cascading from the green lushness into majestic hills of Switzerland, specifically Jung Frau, feels like the top of Europe, oh wait it actually is! Anywhere and everywhere you see, it looks like a painting waiting to be painted, a poem waiting to be written.Into Salzburg, the Austrian city border of Germany, and views of eastern Alps. Marked by Salzach river, medieval baroque buildings on left bank and new city on the right. And then if you are a fan of Sound of Music, like I am, then you sing D for Doe, a female deer, along the way!Into French countryside and then back into Belgium, to Brussels! And back to Eindhoven, Netherlands. It all ends where you begin.Design Inspiration:
